Friends Of Istaria Guild (Blight) The purpose of the guild is to have fun and try to help people out, but not at the expense of self. Remember it's a two way street. The best method of helping is by sharing information, but do not expect anyone to be your slave and do not expect everyone to do the things you want them to do. Don't always expect someone to help you, they are trying to play the game too. It takes time to explain to people and make things for them that very often don't help them at their level and detract from their own goals. And, their are takers and givers. Don't expect to always be a taker, that is recognized quickly and shunned just as quickly. Most things simply take hard work, but you must work hard yourself and give back. It's a two-way street. But, we help when we can and are glad too, just be patient. In other words, be who you want to be, do what you want to do, live, and let live, and try to help. Honor, Integrity, and Hard Work are key. I started the guild because I got tired of simple minded politics and petty egos. I got tired of having to do something just to be a member of a guild. Slavery is illegal, even in a game. To me, the game is to have fun, share info, meet new friends, chat and have fun. Requirements to join the guild are simple. Be a nice person, try to help people out when you can but don't feel obligated to. Join and leave as you please. If you don't like helping people at all and expect everyone to help you then don't join. If you like occasionally helping people out and occasionally receiving help then your welcome to join. No character level, race or school requirements, all are welcome. No big plans, no dues, no set activities. If a few members or all the members want to start something, then feel free to do so. Don't expect me or anyone else to participate. Basically no obligations. Suffice it to say, it's not a big deal, just a place where people can meet, chat, have fun and learn about the game without normal guild hassles and pettiness. I try to help people out whether they are in the guild or not, but it's easier to help those in the guild due to the guild chat channel, and helping members in the guild takes precedence over everyone else. Also those items I can craft are are always free to members in the guild. Don't expect to be asked to join the guild. If you want to join, just ask. I could care less if it grows or shrinks. But in a guild, attention is given first to guild members then everybody else. And items for guild members are always free. So while I have no big plans for the guild, there are many reasons to want to be a part of it. Reasons for getting booted are simple. Basically be a butthead and get booted faster than you can say snizzlewitz. If you don't agree with something someone says then just say you disagree, don't tell them they are an idiot. Personal attacks will not be tolerated. Also don't antagonize people. If you know something offends or stresses someone, then don't do it. Use common sense and remember the game doesn't center around YOU.
