Here are the mods applied to my Z thus far.

The bug dicer is made from an aluminum frame with 1/4" hardware cloth pop-riveted together and painted black.  It bolts to the back side (inside the front cowl behind the grill) of the tow hook block.  The bug dicer saves the air conditioner heat exchanger fins (aluminum) from road debris.

I have always used a K&N filter primarily because it filters air better than a paper filter.  Be careful not to put too much oil on the filter as the oil can damage the mass air flow sensor.  There have been some unconfirmed reports of this happening to people who installed their filter new out of the box.  It did not happen to me.  Some claim there is a small HP performance increase.

These were made by a Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machine shop with a water cutter through a person I met on my350Z.com.  Unfortunately the emblems were cut from the back side leaving a burr edge on the front side.  These burred edges were removed with a Dremel tool and the entire emblem was buffed with an orbital buffer and polishing compound.  The front logo position on the Z has knobs that stick out that have to be removed.  The rear logo position has holes that have to be filled.  The OEM logos are attached with double sided sticky tape.  By fishing very fine wire or fishing line under the logo edge and using a heat gun/hair drier, the OEM logos can be removed.  The new logos can be installed with clear silicone and held in place with masking tape until the RTV sets.

3M™ Scotchcal™ Paint Protection Film a.k.a. clear bra.  This stuff is the greatest.  It is resistant to yellowing and protects the paint from stone chips and bug impacts.  And best of all, un-like a strap on bra, this stuff is always on, doesn't accumulate grit underneath and flap in the breeze and it takes no maintenance. You can also apply wax to it with the rest of the vehicle.  You can find the materiel in bulk or you can buy a pre-cut kit.  I bought the bulk material, it's a lot cheaper.  I applied it to just the hood as the nose piece is plastic and easy to remove/repaint.  You can cut the bulk while it's on the car with a pair of scissors.  Be sure to fold a 1/2" lip under too.  If you buy the kit, it takes a lot of fore-thought, planning and test fitting.  Start out on a small item like the side view mirrors or the hood.  It is applied by thoroughly cleaning the surface and spraying liberal amounts of an alcohol-water mixture.  Best to start at one end, pulling the protective backing tape and squeegeeing as you go.  It also helps to put down guide marks with masking tape.  Here is a FAQ on Scotchcal and a bulletin on installation.  Here are a couple of links to purchase the bulk material from:
