Water treatment on setup involved adding 2 teaspoons per 10 gallons of aquarium salt and the recommended amount of Start Right. The PH out of the tap here is quite high (8.0) so PH Down was used to lower the PH over a few days to 7.1.
Aquarium salt is necessary for the fish to maintain a good mucous membrane and ward off diseases.
Start Right is a great product, it removes chlorine and chloramine from the tap water immediately and provides salt/electrolytes the fish need to remain healthy.
